Many members use EMS training to quickly and efficiently achieve their personal best. But did you know that our training also provides relief for physical issues such as muscular imbalances? Even better, it prevents them as well.
Muscular imbalances refer to uneven development or strength
This concerns an imbalance between two functionally opposing muscle groups (such as the left and right leg). This subsequently affects the entire body. The main causes are injuries resulting from accidents or, the classic scenario, persistent poor postures in everyday life.
WORKPLACE AS A TRIGGER
Those who spend a lot of time at a desk and in front of a computer can quickly develop poor posture in the cervical spine. This occurs when the shoulders slouch forward, and the head is thrust forward. If this is not recognized and actively counteracted in a timely manner, an imbalance in the neck and shoulder muscles can arise. Occupations involving physical labor also increase the risk. Unilateral strain from carrying, lifting, or dragging, and the often resulting habitual and protective posture, is the trigger.
THE PAINFUL CONSEQUENCES
Mild muscular imbalances can be effectively compensated for by your body. However, if they become significant, they may lead to unfavorable joint positions and consequently result in pain. Efficient human movement requires a balanced force relationship among the muscles around a joint. When this balance is disrupted, the joint is directly affected and not evenly loaded.
HOW EMS TRAINING CAN HELP YOU
EMS training is a full-body workout with a focus on many individual muscles. This means that all muscles are engaged, and they are trained individually in a joint-friendly manner depending on the region. This allows targeted correction of muscular imbalances in problem areas. In contrast, conventional, one-sided strength training can even lead to muscular imbalances.
